J&J’s robotics R&D head discusses Ottava’s folding arms, soothing sounds and haptics capability
Johnson & Johnson MedTech announced its Ottava surgical robotics system following FDA de novo authorization. The system features folding arms, haptic feedback capability, and is positioned as a category-defining soft-tissue surgical platform. The company unveiled the device at the July 2026 Society of Robotic Surgery annual meeting.
