First Look: J&J unveils its Ottava surgical robotics system

Johnson & Johnson MedTech received FDA de novo authorization for its Ottava surgical robotics system, a table-integrated soft-tissue surgery platform designed to occupy 30–50% less operating room space than traditional boom-and-cart surgical robot configurations. The system represents the first table-mounted soft-tissue robotic surgery device cleared by the FDA.
