Valleywise Health is Maricopa County's leading public safety-net teaching health system, established in 1877. It is dedicated to providing exceptional care to underserved communities in the Phoenix area through a network of hospitals, behavioral health centers, and community health facilities. The organization has a rich history, evolving from a convalescent home into a comprehensive health system that includes Arizona's first medical residency program and first Level I Trauma Center.
Valleywise Health operates a 325-bed medical center, the nation's second-largest burn center, and multiple behavioral health centers. It also includes Federally Qualified Health Centers and a Center for Refugee and Global Health. The system delivers around 550,000 patient visits annually, focusing on integrated medical and behavioral health care, emergency services, and primary care for vulnerable populations.
