About Seed Global Health

Seed Global Health is a nonprofit organization founded in 2011 by Vanessa B. Kerry and Fitzhugh Mullan. It is dedicated to strengthening health systems in resource-limited countries by educating and training doctors, nurses, and midwives. The organization aims to expand access to quality care and improve health outcomes through sustainable partnerships, focusing on countries with significant shortages of health professionals. Seed Global Health operates with three core goals: education, practice, and policy. It develops training programs at health professional schools, supports patient-centered clinical training, and advocates for national health workforce strategies. The organization has trained over 45,000 health workers and has partnered with 30 organizations, impacting an estimated 76 million people. Its flagship program, the Global Health Service Partnership, places U.S. health professionals as faculty in medical and nursing schools to enhance local education and patient care. Seed primarily works in Africa, with a focus on countries like Malawi, Sierra Leone, and Uganda.
