RWJBarnabas Health is New Jersey's largest integrated health care delivery system, formed in 2016 through the merger of Barnabas Health and Robert Wood Johnson Health System. It serves over three million patients annually and is recognized as the state's most comprehensive health care provider. The organization has a rich history, with roots dating back to the establishment of New Jersey's first hospital in 1865. The health system offers a wide range of services, including acute medical and surgical care, emergency and trauma services, cancer treatment, and specialized programs like renal transplantation and robotic surgery. RWJBarnabas Health is also the largest academic health care system in the state, partnering with Rutgers University to enhance medical research and education.
