About Marshall Health
Marshall Health is the faculty physician practice plan of Marshall University’s Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. It is a key part of the Marshall Health Network, a not-for-profit academic health system serving over 1 million residents in southern West Virginia, southern Ohio, and eastern Kentucky. The network includes more than 1,100 physicians and advanced practitioners who provide personalized care through a comprehensive system of hospitals, ambulatory facilities, and medical offices.
Founded in the 1980s, Marshall Health has expanded significantly, opening major facilities and integrating with Marshall University and its teaching hospitals in 2023. The organization focuses on multidisciplinary care, training future healthcare providers, and addressing regional health issues such as addiction, behavioral health, obesity, and diabetes. Marshall Health offers a wide range of services, including cardiovascular care, mental health support, and occupational medicine, all aimed at enhancing community health and wellness.
