LiveOnNY

LiveOnNY is a nonprofit organ procurement organization established in 1978, dedicated to saving lives through organ, eye, and tissue donation in the greater New York metropolitan area. Serving a diverse population of 13 million, it is the second largest OPO in the United States, collaborating with over 100 hospitals and 10 transplant centers. The organization operates year-round with a team of more than 300 professionals focused on education, advocacy, and family support. LiveOnNY coordinates the recovery of organs and tissue for transplant, provides emotional support to donor families, and raises public awareness to encourage registration in the New York State Donate Life Registry. Its philanthropic arm, the LiveOnNY Foundation, supports various programs, including grants for donor management and therapeutic events for families. The organization emphasizes community engagement and has been recognized as one of Crain's "Best Places to Work" from 2022 to 2024, reflecting its commitment to equity and representation in its leadership and staff.
