Great Plains Health is a nonprofit, fully accredited regional referral hospital located in North Platte, Nebraska. With 116 beds, it serves a vast area across west Nebraska, northern Kansas, and northern Colorado, impacting 136,000 lives across 34 counties. Founded in 1975 from the merger of Memorial Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital, the organization employs around 1,100 staff and over 200 volunteers, including nearly 100 physicians across 30 medical specialties.
As a Level III trauma center, Great Plains Health is dedicated to providing high-quality medical services. It offers a range of healthcare services, including heart and vascular care, cancer treatment, orthopedic services, women's health, and emergency care. The organization also operates 13 Great Plains Physician Network clinics and collaborates with 250 academic institutions for rural internships in various health fields. Its mission is to inspire health and healing by prioritizing patient care across all age groups.
