Broward Health

Broward Health is a public healthcare system based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and is one of the largest public health systems in the United States. Founded in 1938, it operates five hospitals and over 30 health centers, employing more than 11,000 staff members, including physicians. The system has an annual operating budget of $1.6 billion and provides significant charity and uncompensated care, amounting to nearly $225 million. Broward Health offers a wide range of services, including emergency and trauma care, maternity services, orthopedics, pediatrics, rehabilitation, robotic surgery, and transplant services. It is also recognized for its historical advancements in various medical specialties, such as cardiac care and neonatal services. The system collaborates with Florida Atlantic University as the county's first statutory teaching hospital and maintains an affiliation with Nicklaus Children’s Health System to enhance pediatric care access.
