It operates as part of Advocate Health, following mergers in 2018 and 2022. Aurora Health Care originated in 1984 from the merger of St. Luke's Medical Center and Good Samaritan Medical Center, with additional facilities joining over the years. Aurora operates 18 hospitals, over 150 clinics, and 70 pharmacies across 30 communities, making it Wisconsin's largest private employer.
