Acadian Ambulance is the largest employee-owned ambulance service in the United States, founded in 1971 in Lafayette, Louisiana. Established by three entrepreneurs, the company began with two ambulances and has since expanded to operate over 500 ground ambulances and employ more than 4,200 individuals across multiple states.
The company offers a wide range of medical and safety services through seven divisions. These include ground ambulance services for emergency and non-emergency transportation, air medical services with a fleet of helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft, and educational programs through the National EMS Academy. Acadian also provides advanced safety and security solutions, healthcare at home services, and executive aircraft charter operations. With a commitment to quality, Acadian Ambulance is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services and is a member of the American Ambulance Association.
